Seeking Advice: Creating a Logo Animation with Trapcode Particular
Hello everyone
I was already here 20 years ago and have now found my way back here today, as I’m getting a bit more involved with AE again. Unfortunately, I have forgotten a lot of things or a lot has changed in the meantime.
I would like to create a logo animation in After Effects. The whole thing is to be done with Trapcode Particular, as this is still where the most beautiful particles are generated.
Of course I want to build the whole thing myself, but I currently have little idea how best to go about it, so I’m hoping for your help 🙂
The idea: I have a logo that should fly from outside the viewport into the center of the viewport (the background will later become space). It should not be a simple animation of the logo layer, but I would like it to be meteorite-like tails, or magic lights or something like that. Everything made of particles.
I have an example sketch:
1. particles fly downwards in a logo shape
2. particles reach invisible barrier and bang into it. The particles should be thrown further forward by the abrupt stop and gradually dissolve there as a kind of “dust rain”. In the background you can slowly see the real logo (particles as alpha map?)
3. real logo appears while the particles are pushed forward and gradually dissolve.
How should I approach this? I can manage the particle swipe, but I’m currently failing to move the particles further forward when I “stop”.
Should I use the logo as an emitter, or use 3 separate emitters for each tail of the logo to have more control?
I look forward to your input. If anyone is bored, I am open to offers that solve the problem in a quick way 🙂
Best regards
Marco
