Any warnings I should know about? I have time now (boy do I have time) between projects and am considering once again upgrading from 10.5.8 to SL. All comments and advice welcome.

It works. Running Avid Mc5 and FCP 7.0.3 on the same SL system, with Matrox MXO2 hardware (MXO2 and Mini with Max)

But don’t use QTX. Install QT7 (it is an optional install on the SL install disk)…and then ZIP QTX and leave it. QTX is complete trash.

This Mac Pro was a warrantee replacement. When it arrived I removed the 10.6.x system drive and replaced it with my 10.5.8 system drive from the old Mac Pro.

Can I simply swap the drives back, install apps, and be good to go?

Yep, pretty much! And do any software updates, and install perian, because everyone should have it.

They updated it – QTX is much better now. I used it yesterday to export a web qt of a clip to a client. Very simple to use now – to the point that I can’t even remember why I actually needed QT7 for. Was it for WMV’s?
