I’m Russell, currently I’m using apple color for CC. I wanna know there is any limitation on secondary CC on DaVinci? Example, apple color 1.5 have 8 secondary CC tab for a clip. If i need more then 10 vignette in a shot to CC, Is that possible?

sure is just keep adding nodes! Every node in resolve can be a correction or a combination of corrections. Your only real limitation is depending on your system and the horse power of that system realtime playback might suffer if you added say 40 nodes on a shot. But at that point you might want to just give up anyway 🙂

    Hi Russell,

Resolve has no limit like Apple Color when it comes to secondary CC as you can add as many nodes as you want per shot and each node can be a primary or secondary CC, a key or shape and you can route your image processing flow between the nodes.

So to answer your question of having more than 10 vignettes per shot, you basically just add the number of nodes you need and each node will be a shape with its own softness.

But as Robbie mentioned, if your grade exceeds what the GPU in your Resolve can handle, it’ll basically just playback at a slower frame rate. At this point you can either work in proxy-on-the-fly mode to get more real time performance or cache the clip to disk to get real time playback.
