second preview monitor
any recommendations for a second monitor for previewing and a video capture card. budget minded. I’m getting lost in the monitor selection part.

I’m curios about this too. After searching this forum, it seems the “budget” option is to us the Matrox MXO (or MXO2), with a computer monitor. Some seem to like the Dell options, but I can’t tell if they are using it for preview or not. What are the preview options that would stand up in quality and spec to the Apple Cinema Display? What is everyone else using with the Matrox MXO-preview-monitor setup?

HDMI Capture Card from owc $197I just want to see the final results before burning a dvd and not be surprised if the title action safe areas are cut off.

are you looking for a broacast Monitor or a second computer monitor. I don’t know if you’re working SD or HD but there are a lot of fishes in the sea that are reasonable. it all depends on your individual needs. Do you input and output HD, SD, do you have a need for SDI in and Out, HDMI in and out.. Do you work off analog sources? like betacam sp. If you can tell us about your workflow I can provide you a bunch of options

basically a second monitor to view output sd/hd video to burn on a dvd.
the second monitor will be used for color correction and if the footage goes beyond the title action safe areas.
there are so many options, thats why i was asking.
i dont know if i need a video card and any regular lcd computer monitor.
i’m pretty sure i need a video card. i was looking at the https://eshop.macsales.com/item/Blackmagic%20Design/BINTSPRO/.but it’s the monitor itself i’m lost.
my budget is around $500.00 for bothany advice on budget from low to high i would appreciate.
