I have bought a copy of Final Cut Studio second hand, can this be registered to me or does it have to remain registered to the previous owner? I have the key code but obviously the last person who had this package had it registered to them. They are no longer using the package I am reassured.

    Thanks Lisa

They can transfer ownership with Apple. But that also means they give up upgrades as well

Yes but they gave up the right to use it for an upgrade when they sold it.

I’m always a little worried about purchasing “used” software. Unless they gave you the original disks not copied ones and they also gave you the original documentation that came with the disks that has the serial number, not a photo copy handwritten copy, or any other type of copy it must be the original copy from the manufacturer then they have sold you an illegal copy of the software.

    Hindsight is always 1080p

No.. they ALSO have to file a transfer of ownership with the manufacture
