  • Search using timecode in FCP X?

    Hi all.

I edit using FCP 7 and I am now making the switch from 7 to X. In 7 I input timecodes into the viewer window which will start the viewer playhead exactly where I want so I can sort in and out points into subclips. The problem is I cannot seem to find this function in FCP X ,and I have searched google to no avail.
I understand how to create subclips/favorites in FCP X but its just navigating to the point I want to in clip, I want to simply type in for instance 00:00:07:39 instead of watching chunks to figure out where I need to start the in/out point.
    Thank you in advance

Ctrl-P then enter the TC takes you to the position. Use that to go to a TC point in the Event Browser or timeline.

Press Control+P and then enter in a timecode. The Playhead will jump to that timecode location. If you hover your mouse over a clip in the Event Browser it will jump to the timecode location on that clip; if you hover your mouse over the Timeline it will jump to the timecode location there.

You can also click in the dashboard area beneath the Viewer–where the timecode is displayed. This is same as Ctrl-P.
