  • Search hard drive for hidden files

I’ve got an iMac G5, Tiger 10.4.3, and I need to find a hidden file.

Apple’s support says that I can use Sherlock, but in the version of Sherlock on my computer, the Hard Drive is not an option. I would guess this because of the addition of Spotlight. But… I can’t find any options for Spotlight to search through the hidden files.

The specific hidden file I need is the ftpaccess text file so I can properly set up the permissions of files uploaded through ftp. I can only find help on this subject for Mac OS X Server.

    Thanks

    Matt

In 10.3.x you can just use the Find commmand in the finder and under options choose the “invisible files” option.

Thanks, it worked although the file I’m looking for did not show up in the results. It must not be included with the OS.
