search for missing media doesn’t reveal files
I have a project in CS6 on a Winodws 7 64bit machine that has somehow disconnected all of its media. The media is on 2 external drives that are mac formatted, which, are being read by MacDrive 8 software.
The file structure hasn’t changed since the project was originally created. It seems that the drives are retaining the same drive letters after being unmounted and remounted again to the PC. I have tried searching with and without indexing the drives in Windows. I also have the Locate32 software which is able to find the files immediately, but since there are so many files going through this and manually re-linking the files isn’t an option.
Even when I’m able to manually find the file and search only the containing folder I receive “No items match your search”. This is despite the fact that I know the file is in that exact location. Windows search only does this with these two External Mac formatted drives. When I search my internal/external Windows formatted drives, Windows is able to find files with no issue.
Does anyone have any insight as to why this may be happening? Or have ideas for solutions other than reformatting the drives?
