Seam on image maps
Posted by Chris Poisson on February 2, 2007 at 2:05 pmHey all,
Is there a way to blend or blur the edge where an image map meets itself on a sphere? It’s maddening that I can’t rotate a sphere image all the way around because of that damn seam.

February 2, 2007 at 6:48 pmHi Chris.
If you can send me an example of the problem you’re seeing,
(an .aep file and enough textures to demonstrate the bug),
I’d be happy to take a look.Send files to: matt@zaxwerks.com
Thanks a lot.

February 2, 2007 at 7:19 pmHi Matt, it may not be a bug at all…
It could be that the map edges aren’t made mirror eachother. I’ve seem some tutorials on how to achieve seamless tiling using Photoshop. A quick search of the forums could yield the answer.

Thanks for the offer, but it’s not a bug. It happens in other programs and plugins as well. I’m seeing the same seam in Kinemac, and in CC Sphere. Jon is right, I need a Photoshop trick or something to fix it.

Here are some free samples of seamless sky maps. Might be of help.
