    Hi everyone,

Apologies for bringing my std-def cam to a hi-def forum, but I couldn’t see where else to post. I believe there are several HPX users here who know the SDX900 inside-out & back-to-front. I did a happy morning of work indoors and, just for fun, shot an outdoor scene. Frame-wide and severe cross-hatching is recorded only on the outdoor scene – across the frames shot of the sky – and this disappears as the iris is opened.

I wonder if anyone might know the cause of the cross-hatching?

I hope the HPX2700 I dream of doesn’t record such lines!

Looks like you were shooting through a fence.

I don’t remeber seeing anything like that when we had our SDX, but did you have any ND filters on there?

    Hi Jeremy,

Thank you heaps for taking the time to view my frames. I didn’t positively set any ND filter, but first thing in the morning I will check the cam in case I inadvertently nudged one into place.

    Well, would you believe it!

You solved it in one. My colour temp wheel was set at “A” which isn’t standard temperature but a cross filter. I should have been set at “B” for standard temp. I must stop twiddling with knobs when I’m bored . . . .

Again, many thanks for offering a comment.

Duh- forgot all about that filter. Of course that’s it! Nice find.
