Since I got my Kona LH I’ve been dying to get the SDI terminal box for my 9-series Panasonic plasma so I could monitor SDI and use the component outs elsewhere, but its just way too expensive, like $1600.

Now a new possibility has come my way… Convergent design makes a $325 SDI to HDMI converter https://www.convergent-design.com/CD_Products_nanoView.htm, and Panasonic’s HDMI terminal box is only $125, so…

Does anyone think this SDI to HDMI conversion has any drawbacks???

AJA also makes a great SDI -> HDMI mini converter, the HI5, to add to your list.

it is my understanding that the audio break out, looping and 480p from the h15 unit are unique. i am not familiar with the convergent, but it looks to be the case. also, the h15 has an AJA 5 year warranty, which means something out there!
