  SDI to DeckLink to VLC

  I’m working in Resolve 11 on a Mac Pro, sending the video signal to an UltraStudio 4K, outputting an SDI and then in to a DeckLink 4K Extreme card that’s in a separate PC, which then sends the signal as DVI to another monitor for full screen viewing as I grade. We’ve been doing this successfully with an HDR workflow, using a customized Media Player Classic player to convert the incoming SDI to HDR and to play in HDR mode on a Sim2. This works.

  I need to take a step backwards and get this workflow to operate without the HDR mode (Media Player Classic works to see the signal, but the color is off). I thought VLC could do it, but when I go to connect to the DeckLink, VLC just goes black.

  What’s the best Resolve workflow to get 3 monitors working: 1) UI 2) Scopes 3) Full Screen Monitor? Do I even need to go through the UltraStudio 4K, or just hook up a 3rd monitor from the Mac Pro via thunderbolt to HDMI and then set something in Resolve?
