We are experiencing some issues with our new SONY MPEG IMX MSW-M2000. We checked it in our three suites (an Aja Kona 2/G5/XServe Raid suite, an Aja LHI/MacPro/Sonnet Raid suite and an Aja Io/G5 ingestion). When SDI IN and SDI OUT cables from and to any of our AJA KONA or AJA LHI boards(with Breakout box) or AJA Io suites are both connected, signal becomes unstable and we can’t capture or edit to tape. Our FCP suites receive a reference signal from three Kramer Blackburst Generators , cables are brand new etc. Any suggestion?

Upon capture, the card will sync to incoming video. Try pulling the outgoing video to close the feedback loop for starters. Or take your deck out of e-e. Then on layoff, you will need the sync, but you have to make sure your deck is set to EXT ref and not INT which will sync to incoming video.
