Best thing to do is simply test it. A display port to HDMI adapter only costs ~$5, hook it up to a cheap monitor with HDMI inputs. If that works, then the HDMI-to-SDI converter should work.

is there a specific reason to go from the dvi port to an hdmi adapter and then into the bmd box? couldnt i just route directly from the hdmi port to the box?

Try straight from the HDMI to a monitor and see if it works. If it does, than you’re good to go.

Make sure to set preview/playback to the HDMI monitor once you restart Premiere, obviously after connecting the monitor first with Premiere closed.

The way I do it is connect the monitor, set it as a second display (not cloned), open Premiere, and set the playback device as the second display.
