January 14, 2012 at 4:08 pmI believe that HDV uses 4:2:0 color instead of the 4:1:1 for DV so it should be better.

Also you’ll have 5x the resolution in HD so you’ll get a much better key than with SD. As a rule-of-thumb, everything should be done in HD even if your target is SD. The results will always be better than SD alone (not just for green screen work).
