SDHC HIGH-SPEED Card Reader
Posted by Jay Gladwell on August 31, 2009 at 4:10 pmIs there such a thing as a high-speed SDHC card reader?
The transfer time from my SDHC cards (16GB) to the backup drive (BPAV files) is 75 minutes.
Is there a faster method?
TIA

You shouldn’t assume the problem is with most readers.
With SDHC I get 2x with ClipBrowser CRC on and 4x with it off. In other words it takes me either about 28 minutes or 14 minutes to copy from SDHC from 16GB (about 57 minutes). I’m just using a Sandisk multi card reader, an old one too as it only list SD and not SDHC support. -

Noah, you know you’re supposed to CRC On. -

Never plug a card reader into your keyboard’s USB port if it has one – you never know what you’ll get. Most likely USB-1, at least on older equipment. On my Mac keyboard it also pops up an error saying that the port doesn’t provide power to the reader, it’s only a data connection.
