September 24, 2009 at 6:59 pmWe are using the Decklink HD Extreme 3 going SD-SDI out of an AVHS400 connected to 3-4 EX3s and taking analog audio from a board into the card. The stream is pretty flawless.

September 27, 2009 at 3:56 pmScott,
Are you saying you’re actually getting SD (downconverted) out of the HD-SDI bnc on an EX1???
I understood that this was an HD only camera and having an early one have never achieved this.

September 27, 2009 at 4:18 pmThe camera can downconvert out of SDI as described in the manual. It can letterbox or centercrop.

November 9, 2009 at 12:37 amIn order for the analog SDI to come out of the EX1 bnc connecter you have to have ilink disabled. THis is Version 1.11.
I dont know if that changes for newer firmware. You have to have Component enabled and ilink disabled.

March 5, 2010 at 7:09 pmI am using the HDV outport from the EX3. I can switch the cam into a SP mode for 1080×1440 and enable what’s called ilink. So the computer finally recognized the camera and automatically downloaded the driver. Now I want to use the cam but I can seem to find a software that will recognize the camera as a webcam. For example ustream.tv shows the cam as a source option but doesn’t show the image?
I am trying to broadcast a barmitzfah for a father that is dying of leukemia in the hospital. My events company is only just learning about streaming live, but I’m having trouble with ustream.tv allowing me to view the camera image

I think the HDV plugin is an extra purchase though.

If you’re using a MacBookPro with Express slot you can use EX with and take the uncompressed HD-SDI out.I’ve done this with EX1, MXO2-LE, MacBookPro 2.4GHZ early 2008 15″ and it worked fine. I had the MXO2 downscale since I didn’t need to stream in HD (16×9 SD at 640×360 was good) and it took some stress off the processor.
