Well, I don’t own this particular model, but it should have a component input (no HD of course). Unsually in the form of BNC connectors (probably horizontal). Look for 3 connectors marked G pB pR.

And I don’t own an HV20 either, but I can’t imagine that it wouldn’t have a composite output.
This monitor has a composite input, probably marked “video” and also in the form of a BNC connector.

referring to component connections…

Some monitors have abilities to take an RGB component connection (Green, Red, Blue) and and some have a color difference, video analog component connection (Y’ Pb Pr or Y’, R-Y, B-Y) and many times both connections are available through the same inputs and they’re labeled G/Y’, R/Pr, B/Pb…etc.

I’m not sure what boards could be placed in the monitor model you’re referring to…I have a 14E5U, and it has cards for RGB, component Y’R-Y, B-Y, and SDI, but these are all optional cards sold separately.

Usually a composite connection (a single BNC) could be either separate entirely, or available on one of the other BNC jacks.

thanks for the responses. it looks like there is a composite bnc as well as the component on the monitor. (i took a picture)

You’ll need to buy 3 female RCA to male BNC adapters. Use the 3 bottom “in” connections in the R G B order.

Not sure where you are, but most specialized electronic stores will have them (Radioshack, etc.)

…and when you get those adapters…you’ll need to look at your camcorder settings to see if you can set the component output to standard definition. The default format for the component out on your camcorder is likely HD.

i just bought the adapters online and my camera can output as 1080i and 480i so i’m assuming 480i is correct. thanks alot guys. i really appreciate it.
