I was wondering if it was possible to place a SD video scaled at about 20-15% on top of HD footage?

I will have an HD aerial shot which lasts about a second and I want to put an small SD explosion coming out of a building. Is this worth my time because i can’t get hold of any HD explosions?
I am hoping that because i want to make it really small, and the clip only lasts about a second I could get away with it.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

    Thanks!

Just make sure you field-separate the explosion if it comes in interlaced.
