  Sculpting on an extruded spline?

  Good morning:
  Using C4D R15.
  Made an outline of a rock from a background wall picture using bezier spline.
  Extruded it and tried to sculpt it into the shape I want, then insert it into the “wall” I made with a cube.
  Only the extruded surfaces are “sculptable (?)”, not the large spline surface.
  Have I missed a step?
  Also, if there is another way to accomplish this, I am open to suggestion.
