    Hi All,
I am doing titling for numerous nation spots, many of them also desire scrolling text. I currently use a generated text block, set a specific length of time, and then use key frames to have it move across the screen. Works pretty well, except my clients and I see the text is a bit blurry. I tried different fonts, adding and removing “reduce interlace flicker,” and there is still blurriness. I have also tried doubling the size of the text block (1440×960 instead of 720×480) and it seems better. But I still an a little concerned.
What is the best way to do scrolling text (other than this) and how can I keep it from being blurry?
I am using NTSC IMX 720×486 project settings(pulling in from Beta SP via Intensity Pro)
Rendering to that preset and in “Best”
I rendering to different formats depending on station requirements, but often use these
    NTSC 720×480 DV
    NTSC 720×480 MPEG 2
    NTSC 720×486 3M MOV

The footage is 4:3 but with widescreen inside of it…Beta SP doesn’t do widescreen
Thanks for all your input in advance!
    Regards

I believe you have already found it. By increasing the size of the text block thing you are increasing the resolution and sharpening the pixels. That’s why we have anamorphic lenses: they take a bigger, stretched picture that can then be squashed and scaled down with much better resolution.

I would also try upping the bitrate of the files your rendering.

you can also set the text block to double resolution and size accordingly. It’ll be sharper.

I believe he already did that! I think that’s probably the only way though.

I am having the same problem. Could you please be more specific in your recommendation? ..on setting the text block to double resolution?

    Thanks!

Linda, change the numbers in the Frame Size box at the top left of Generated Media.
