So if I play something in final cut pro that little yellow arrow (it’s called play head, right) will move forward in my time line / move to the right. Now if it’s outside the screen its outside the screen and I won’t see where it is unless I pause the playback with space so it jumps to the current position of the stopped play head. Is there any way to follow the play head WHILE it is being played as in IS auto scrolling possible?

I used to cut on Media100 and this was standard on that.

Same with Avid. FCP just doesn’t offer that feature.

    Nope.

But you can always zoom out to see the entire area of what you’re playing if you want.

But AFAIK no way to stay zoomed in and have it scrolls as it plays.

    Regards,
    Chris

Pity. I think I first saw this feature in iMovie 4 or 3.

Nope, auto scrolling the timeline during playback isn’t possible in FCP, but you can manually scroll it during playback if that helps you?
