Scripting
Is there a tutorial available that explains how to use the scripting features in Vegas Pro 9? I’ve never used a tool like this before,so I need something that starts with the most basic concepts of scripting.

Here is an article on How to use Scripts in Sony Vegas Software. It is a bit old but will give you a good idea on how to use scripts.
It does not teach you how to write scripts. For that you need to understand how to program in C#, VB, or JavaScript.
