Script to add points to a mask
hi people
I need to add x number of new vertices between the current vertices of a mask – following the current bezier paths – basically the same functionality as in illustrator Object/Path/Add Anchor Points. Hiroyuki Sato has an excellent script called Divide for doing this in Illustrator (https://shspage.com/aijs/en/#divide) and I’ve spent the last 2 days trying to port it for after effects but it is just a little beyond my Javascript skills… dang it. I’m hoping someone might have another option on how to do this…?

so my problem just got a little more tricky. I now need to redistribute the mask vertices along the mask path. So for example I have a closed mask with 25 vertices (with bezier handles), some are bunched up together and others are spaced quite apart. I now want the final path to have 100 vertices distributed fairly evenly along the mask path staying as close as possible to the original curves…
any pointers or code snippets very greatly appreciated.
