I am trying to use the amazing script sync feature to sync a transcript of a documentary interview to the clip in Avid. Apparently people have not had much trouble with this because i can’t find many articles or forum posts about problems with the program. However when I attach my clip to the script in AVID and then instruct it to script sync it gives me a “all text filtered” message everytime. I deselected all the filter options and used celtx to format the transcript in standard script format without any unusual characters. I also transcoded to .MXF from the direct link p2 clip that i was testing it on. Not sure what else to try. Do i have to set markers around the area i want to sync?

Yes, you need to drag a selection of the text, then throw the clips on it.
