Script Install
Posted by John Magee on September 27, 2007 at 12:18 amI downloaded some free scripts/tools, one in a VB file, one in a MVP file. Where do I put the files/folders to make them run in Vegas 8 ?
Thanks

September 27, 2007 at 12:57 amOK, I actually checked the manual, found the script folder, the VS file script shows up in the menu but the “MVP” file isn’t there. Maybe MVP is not a script? got it at the VASST site…

September 27, 2007 at 12:39 pm“mvp” is not a script file. Scripts will typically end with “.js”, “.cs”, or “.dll”.
It Vegas 8, it is now recommended that you do NOT put them in the “Script Menu” folder inside the Vegas Pro 8 folder. Instead, there are now actually SEVERAL places they can be placed. Here’s a list of options:
C:\Documents and Settings\
\My Documents\Vegas Script Menu\
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Sony\Vegas Pro\8.0\Script Menu\
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Sony\Vegas Pro\8.0\Script Menu\
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony\Vegas Pro\8.0\Script Menu\
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Sony\Vegas Pro\Script Menu\
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Sony\Vegas Pro\Script Menu\
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony\Vegas Pro\Script Menu\You can use any of the above. A really easy place to find is just go to Start – My Documents, and then add a new folder there called “Vegas Script Menu”. Put all your scripts in that folder.
