this problem pops up periodically and goes away after going back and forth on my settings, not using different settings, but changing them and then changing back. But this time, nothing I do gets rid of the problem. Working with Multibridge Pro, on a Mac Pro quad core FCP 6.0.2 (10.5.2, but the problem was also there in previous versions, and now 6.6.4, but the problem was there with 6.6.2 and before so I brought my drivers up to date) with 720P 24P on 59.94 output. Native to HDMI HD monitor its just fine. Set to component out and process downconvert to either letter or ana. 8 bit or 10 bit makes no difference.

Outputting downconversion to either ana or letterbox, I get this nasty thing that looks like one of the fields is down converted and the other isn’t, so one field looks right and the other is pan and scanned across the center of the NTSC frame. It also looks like the fields are reversed, even though with 24P to NTSC, you shouldn’t be seeing a difference between most fields and frames in the cadence.

Driving me crazy.I can handle it cropping up periodically if I can banish it by refreshing my settings, but this time it ain’t going away. Anybody ever see this? Anybody know why? I can’t be the only one hooked up this way

I have had this problem with my multibridge extreme (same device just has dvi-out instead of hdmi-out connector) since I bought it new 2 years ago.

I have yet to this day to recieve a fix from black magic design on it. I was told after submitting some info to them that it was to be fixed in 6.6.x driver and has not been yet for some reason.

I guess not many people are doing this downconvert, or were just hacking it like I was. But its not responding to the usual trick now and I’ve got a major problem. Heck, this downconvert function is half the reason I bought it.

BM guys! Please Fix! Immediately! I need this function back!

    Thanks Chris

I believe I’ve solved something like this one once (downconverting HDV PAL realtime from FCP through the decklink HD extreme to SD) by choosing the easy setup from FCP for HDV first, then videodisplay through decklink HD 25 Hz setting.

    Regards.
