    Hi,
Have spend ages trying to find ways of increasing the performance of my editing. I would be super happy for any help with this! 🙂

Captured Video & Audio: should I put this on harddrive C or D?

Video & Audio Previews: should I put this on harddrive C or D?

Media Cache: should I put this on harddrive C or D?

DVD Encoding: should I put this on harddrive C or D?

    Thanks so much in advance!
    Nina

From reading I have understood that I should do this:
C: OS, apps and project files (previews, media cache?)
    D: Video files/sourzefiles (the captured)

You should always keep video source files on a driver or array other than the app/os disk, also it helps to have another drive for things like media cache, preview files, audio clips and images, etc. it allows the drive/array with the source files to be able to stream more layers/trks of video, also its putting your eggs in different baskets, you loose less data in case of a drv. failure, also backup you project files to optical disk.
