Screencast similar software for Windows?
Posted by David Wheeler on August 12, 2009 at 3:48 pmI purchased Telestream’s Screencast software to do screen captures before realizing that the screen captures were possible only in Windows. Can you recommend software similar to Screencast that works in Windows?
Thanks!

August 12, 2009 at 4:13 pmHmm. I’m not sure what you’re getting at. I assume you mean Telestream ScreenFlow which is Mac based.
ScreenFlow can also capture Windows OS if you have Parallels or Fusion.
Of course you could b Camtasia but that costs several times more than ScreenFlow. It may be less expensive to get Parallels and an OEM version of Windows.

August 12, 2009 at 6:07 pmTry 1AVCapture. It is cheap and it works great. It records the desktop screen, or any other video source you have directly to compressed WMV. It also allows you to do real-time screencasts over the web, and it also records audio alone. I use it and I totally recommend it.

August 12, 2009 at 7:20 pmThanks, Craig. You are correct. I have Telestreams ScreenFlow. I don’t run Windows on my Mac, so I’m looking for a PC-based solution.
Thanks!

You should give it a go, Windows on a Mac performs and behaves better than it does on a PC.
