For my work, I screen record my Mac using QuickTime. Recently, however, my Mac’s storage has been getting a bit high and, as a result, the screen recorder will automatically stop while I’m in the middle of recording, eventually creating several files where I only needed one. I’ve tried plugging in my hard drive to necessitate the extra storage needed to stop this from happening (since all the files get saved there after they’re done anyway) but, no matter what, QuickTime will always stop recording. I’ve tried going into QuickTime to see if I can change something about it so that it’ll also account for the extra space of the hard drive but no such luck.

Is there any way to change the autosave location of QuickTime to my external hard drive of my internal hard drive? If not, do you know of any (preferably free) screen recorders that I can use that will allow this?
