When I worked on a PC, there was a way to copy the imagery displayed on a monitor as an image, I think it was a jpeg. Now I’m working on a mac G5. Is there a way to do this? I need to be able to copy my monitor’s screen (or a window’s worth of display), and bring it into Photoshop or After Effects in order to make changes to it.

    Thanks,
    eric

Apple – shift – 3 will capture the entire screen

Apple – shift – 4 will give you a crosshairs, click and drag to select the area you want to capture.

In both cases, the capture will show up as a PDF on your desktop (picture 1, picture 2, etc). Drag and drop the PDF onto Photoshop in your dock to open it.
