  Scratch removal – what is the best solution

  I telecined a 1000 foot 16mm film and found in some areas of the film there were as many as 3 scratches running for several feet or more. The scratches run from top to bottom of the frame, some on the edge some in the middle.

  I tried to use the Boris Wire removal FX and I found that the width necessary to remove the scratches caused a blurred line that was just as noticeable as the scratch (if not more distracting). Is there another tool, plug-in, or method? I’m using Sony Vegas.
