    Hi,
I would like some suggestion to optimize my hard drives. I’m running on a powerbook with an external HD. Is it better to make capture Audio-Video two separate files or the same? Is it better to make the external HD for the Capture AND the render, or simply the capture on external HD and render on internal HD? Thanks for any suggestion or new knowledge!

    Have a nice editing!

You should not capture DV as separate files.

Put all captures and Renders on that FW drive, and put everything else on the startup disk.
