I am running Premiere CS6. I have two 7200RPM disc drives: a 500GB with Windows 7 + CS6 installed on it, and a new 2TB that is empty.

I plan on using the 2TB for my scratch disk. But for optimal performance, should I save the project file to the OS drive or scratch drive? Does it even matter?

    Thanks!

It doesn’t really matter where the project file is a long as it gets incrementally backed up as often as possible 🙂

I keep my projects files with the media etc.

Scratch disk location only really matters if you render your sequences for previews. And even then, unless you are previewing uncompressed, your media drive is fine.
