scp omf
Not a major issue, but something that seems like it should work… I’ve got a 25 min show, XDCAM, 12 audio channels. I exported an OMF and then tried to import it into Sound Studio for confirmation. The file starts to open but then stops and crashes Sound Studio. (I have latest updates of both programs.) Fortunately, the OMF opens perfectly in ProTools. Also, i can send the sequence directly to Sound Studio with not problem.
Obviously, I now know that the OMF is OK and will transfer to the audio house, still it seems like it should also open in Sound Studio. Am I just asking for something that the program doesn’t do?

I’ve never heard of Sound Studio before, but when I looked at their website I didn’t see any mention of OMF. My guess is that it’s not compatible. Have you tried contacting the Sound Studio tech support?

Sorry, major brain fart… I mean Soundtrack Pro. That’s why I assumed it would work seamlessly.

Which version of STP? Only STP 3.x can open OMF files.

Where can I get an upgrade to Soundtrack Pro 3? I also only have 2.02 and need to import omf files. I can’t find any reference to it on the Apple site.

You have to buy the upgrade to FCS 2 to get STP 3 (Along with FCP 6, Motion 3, Color etc.)
