Scopes Playback and Real Time Layers
Should setting the FCP video scopes to playback decrease the number of real time layers in FCP? I have a sequence with 11 layers of video. With the scopes not set to playback I get a green render bar. When I turn scopes to playback the bar turns to red.

Yes this is normal. The scopes reduce the RT capability as they consume system resources to display, particularly in real time. Not so long ago they wouldn’t display real time as they were resource hogs.
