Scopebox on G5 extremely slow
Hello,
my Resolve System is connected to an old G5 running Divergentmedia Scopebox.
model 7,2 , 1.8 dual , 8GB RAM , ATI 64MB AGP graphics, BMD Decklink Pro (PCI-X 133 Slot) with 2006 DeckLink 5.6.2 drivers, OSX 10.4.11
In HD mode (Scopebox compression: uncompressed 422) there is a delay of 2-3 seconds and a framerate about 8fps. SD works in real time. Some of you were reporting that the Sopebox/G5 combination is running fine.
– What exact specs does your G5 have?
– Does Scopebox need a more powerfull GPU?
– Do I need a newer ‘old’ G5?Thanks!

I think you need a better GPU for the G5.

I highly suggest you try with another computer. I’ve been thinking of getting a Mac Mini and use the Mac Pro for something a little more power consuming than just serve as a scope producing machine.
Contact the developer and see what he hardware he will suggest for you.
