Hi, capturing (firewire) HDV from XHA1s to SV9, usually in small chunks. No prob.

I haven’t captured multigig lengths in quite awhile so when I did capture recently
a full length tape, over 4 gigs, it was broken down into several VOB files of
approx. 1 gig each instead of one single capture tho scene detection was off as
normal. I’m running an i5 quad with 8 gigs ram on Windows 7 64. Over 1tb drives
    as well…no Fat32.

Probably my little grey cells on the kibosh so any info please…Pete.

VOB files are a maximum of 1Gb by spec. How on earth are you capturing VOB files? HDV should capture as .m2t files.
