    well,

    independent of clip/compression….
    mainly uncompressed 8bits, (not dv – if you mean clip detection at capturing)

    i have ready-made edits that i have to work over, speed them up etc.
    so it would be nice to have it analyzed and edited,
    and no, i don’t have a original EDL of the movie…

    i saw this detection on a DaVinci CC system – just thought
    it can’t be too hard to achieve..

    There are logging programs like “Executive Producer” that have scene detection features built in.

    To my knowledge there’s nothing like that in FCP.

    There is an external application, that works with FCP quite nice over XML. (But also with EDL to other apps)
    It’s called Recut. Download a free demo from
