Hi. I’m hoping there are people here who scan pencil drawings who may be able to help me out…
I just bought a Conoscan 4400F. Overall I’m very satisfied, considering it is a cheap home scanner.
However there is one issue – when I scan pencil drawings, where ever there is lots of lead or lots of pressure was applied to the paper with the pencil, these areas are scanned as white.
This looks like light reflecting off the lead, kind of like when you photograph a pencil drawing.
This scanner is a lot more sensitive than my old umax scanner, so I’m not sure if this issue is normal due to the high sensitivity, or if there is some problem with the scanner (maybe some calibration issue with the lamp alignment?)

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanx
