Scan Line Issues
Posted by Jm Knowles on September 30, 2008 at 9:34 pmI am still having scanline issues. It seems to be intermittent. I can’t figure out when I will get them and when I won’t. When I look at something in the viewer it looks clean … but then when I drag it into the timeline it looks awful. Any ideas?

September 30, 2008 at 9:40 pmPlease give full details. What’s the original media exactly, the sequence settings, the versions of FCP, QT, and OS?
All the best,
Tom

September 30, 2008 at 9:44 pmSometimes I open and close a sequence and when I open it again there are scanlines where there weren’t before … this is really frustrating!

September 30, 2008 at 9:51 pmFCP 5 Intel Mac OS 10.5 7.4.5 qicktime … i have the sequence set at CCIR 40:27 for frame size and pixel aspect. I am not using compression. The video is D1 NTCS from after effects. Sometimes I open my sequence and they look fine. They seem to decay after awhile. Another note … my Hard Drive is almost full … could this be causing distortions? Thanks so much!

September 30, 2008 at 10:06 pmDoes this material need to be rendered in FCP? Make sure your Canvas is to set to 100%, or view your material on a video monitor.
Are you using 5.1 or 5? You should be using 5.1 with an Intel machine.
All the best,
Tom
