    Hello –

I’m in the process on developing content for a rather large video display at an up coming trade show. Here are the dimensions I’m working with in AE:

    9 screens high x 1 screen (960 x 4888)
    6 screen high x 1 screen (960 x 3254)

These will be scaled 2x to fill the 1920×1080 screens.

I have been asked to include some footage (1920×1080) in the columns but I’m concerned that the scaling involved will leave us with a nasty looking final product. The footage will essentially be scaled up 6x. Of course, the intent is that these columns will be viewed from a distance. Should I avoid scaling or not? Should I opt for 4K stock footage instead?

    Thanks so much!

Displays in a trade show environment are viewed from far away to attract people to a booth, but from very close up when they are actually in the booth.

While the attendees will not be as critical of the image as we are, I would not personally be comfortable selling a client that level of scaling.
