Hey guys, I’m making a video that has a bunch of mixed formats in it. I realize that upscaling old found footage (a lot of super8 and 16mm) to match the 1080p footage I have is going to make the found footage look like crap. However, I’m curious about something I’ve noticed. When the found footage (that has been enlarged to fit the screen) is paused or still, the quality of the image is far better than that of when it is in motion. Is this a rendering issue? Or something else? Thanks for your help!

You can set the playback and paused resolution in the panel menu (upper right corner of panel). Are you viewing the playback at half resolution and full resolution when paused?

Yes, that is just to help your machine play back the footage with greater ease. There is also a drop down panel in the lower right corner of the program monitor where you can select full, 1/2 or 1/4 playback resolution.

And the Lord said, “Come forth and receive eternal life.” But I came fifth and all I got was a set of steak knives!
