Scaling down in AE for 3d Set
So, I am making a 3d set with a live action actor shot on GS composed in. Its not too complicated, but the set is a LARGE scale building that the camera pushes in toward. I’m hoping to push right up to the front door of the building that is VERY small compared to the overal scale. (I really want to hit that this is a massive building you wouldn’t find normally).
The problem is, i’m hoping to have a live action actor waiting for us at that entrace (a 3d layer of a pre-shot actor with camera moves etc. to coordinate with the 3d space.)
Here’s were I get confused. In order to make my Actor the right scale it needs to be at about 8 to 10% scale, and by that time it’s lost ALL sharpness and is just a ball of pixels.
Can anyone think of a work around for this? Is there a way to scale footage down without loosing quality? Any little tricks you might be able to think of? (I tried a slow scale up as the camera zooms in, but that really throws off the look). Or is this just past AE’s limitations and I need to tweak my vision for this shot?
Thanks for any help/suggestions!
