Scale / Zoom
Hi,
I am currently editing together some talking head interview footage and have a medium shot clip, I want to zoom into the clip so that it is just a head shot, which I would normally do by adjusting the scale. However I don’t want the clip to be as big as the screen, as I have two images on the screen at the same time. So naturally when I reduce the scale down, I’m back to my medium shot. If someone firstly understands what I’m on about and secondly can help me, that would be fantastic. I’m guessing there must be someway that once I’ve increased the scale to get a headshot I can then set that as 100% on the scale and then reduce the image size down from there? I just need to know how!

Yeah, best bet is to crop the image, and not scale it at all unless you have to… crop first, then scale if necessary.

The highly technical, industry term for this is “split screen”.
As suggested by others, the crop tool or DH Box is your best bet.
