    Please help.
The modeling microphone tutorial in the book C4D 9.5: Real World 3D Animation Production by Larry Mitchell, p30 calls for using the “Y Axis Lock” to scale some polygons. Where is this feature?
I’ve been typing in the coordinates manager as a work-around but I’m guessing there is a way to lock one axis.

Also how do I quickly reset the scale tool to it’s defaults as there are a number of settings under different tabs that could be changed.

I assume he’s talking about the X/Y/Z buttons on the top icon palette. You can turn off any or all of them. The icon to the right of them determines whether the action occurs in global or local space.

The shortcut way to lock one axis is to simply hold down the SHIFT Key and hover over the axis to be locked. Then click and leave the SHIFT key. Now you scale along the other two axis.
