scale warps photo edges
Posted by Ann Lukacs on February 27, 2006 at 8:13 pmI tried to get a photo to decrease in size (like a fly-away effect) at the end of my video. However, it warps the sides of the photo as it decreases. Ideas?

February 27, 2006 at 8:28 pmThe sides distort in funny so they don’t maintain being straight as it decreases in size.

Are you rendering it before you view?
Have a wonderful day.

February 27, 2006 at 8:58 pmHow big is your photo and what settings do you have in the distort parameter in the motion tab? What happens if you crop a few pixels off of the photo, will they remain straight? Are you just keyframing the scales to make the fly away effect?

February 27, 2006 at 9:24 pmDistort is: upper left -308.5 . -225; upper right 308.5 . -225; lower right 308.5; 225; lower left -308.5 . 225
How do I find the pixel size for the photo? Yes. I am using keyframes on the scale to make it “fly away” in size. I used to have a Matrox system that had built in effects that would do this. Does FCP?

Look at the frame size column in the browser.
Did you try cropping it?
Is there a way to post what you are seeing?

February 27, 2006 at 9:59 pmFrame size is 617×450. I tried cropping but it didn’t help. I tried another photo that is 1833×1221 but it did the same thing. It seems more predominant on the right side. I don’t know how I would post it. I may try some other kind of effect of a long dissolve.
