Ok So my original video is a WMV file thats about 65.5 mb and is about 5 minutes long, The problem I keep having is that the file size keeps saving it as a really huge file My last one was about 4 gb and took about a hour to render I have 9 effects on only on the first 30 seconds, to render 40 seconds it takes me about 25 minutes and renders it about 723mb Thats way to big for what I want can anyone give me any tips on how to keep it the same size, also the frames seem to lag real bad when I try to replay them its starting to really aggravate me cause Ive worked close to 7 hours just for 30 seconds that wont render right, When I do a ram preview it looks fine Ive even tried to save RAM preview and it still seems to be laggy and a huge file. All I want to do is save My file as the same size and quality with the effects what is it that I have to do? and why is it taking me 2 and a half hours to render files that dont even work? Someone help me. I have a 2 mhz processor and 1.5 of ddr ram and Im using after effects version 7, what am I doing wrong

I think I figured things out, I Just basically learned to deal with the Long Render times buy letting them Run While I sleep, Even though the file was big I just used Windows Movie Maker to Edit the film again using the Size I want since it seems to be a very quick program for doing this, Many of the effects I used were heavy rendering effects with music and everything else in the backround I could see how it could have taken so Long, Ive read many of your replys to posters dave and I have found that Once I Export a file (Instead of render like you suggest) I get a Dark haze over the video and the color is off after changing alot of my basic setting (Like using wmv instead of Avi) and messing with the compression setting Render has worked better although it took close to 4 hours to render once i was done It wasnt all bad if I render before bed Then I get a chance to wake up and start again 🙂 Thanks for your help.
