Saving Multiple Layers to a single PDF
Posted by Michael Goldberg on April 28, 2006 at 12:39 pmHi,
I’ve been able to export a layered psd to individual pdf’s, but I’d like to take a 20 layer image, and create a single pdf with 20 pages. I can’t seem to find this can I do that?Mike

April 28, 2006 at 5:47 pmAutomation>pdf presentation will make that happen if you put the layers either on the desktop or in a folder and have the automated process select them. It puts each file (layer) on a page and groups the pages in one pdf.

May 1, 2006 at 6:38 pmYou can export each layer to a file using File>> scripts>>export layers to files. I know that has been around since atleast CS1.

May 2, 2006 at 5:22 pmThx,
When you say put the layers on the desktop, or in a folder, I’m not sure what you mean. If you mean saving them as separate files, that’s what I’m trying to avoid – the process of saving each layer as a separate layer first.MG

May 4, 2006 at 3:47 pmYou need to make seprate files for each layer first to get the final result you need which is a single PDF with multiple pages. It is very easy to make a multiple page PDF once you have a file for each page.
