I recently swapped my PC for a Mac. When saving files on a PC the file automatically saves to the same folder you opened it from. On the Mac it seems that you must manually choose a save location each time you ‘save as’ a file or else it’s put in what ever folder the Mac chooses.

Is it possible to make the Mac’s default save location be whichever folder the file was opened from like the PC?

I’m not sure if it has that feature, but you might want to check out an application called “Default Folder X.” It will allow you to greatly customize how Mac OS X handles Open, Save, and Save As windows.

    Hope that helps,
